Doctor Pumps traces its origins to the inspiring journey of Mr. P. V. Patel, Founder and Chairman of Fieldman Engineers Pvt. Ltd. Born into a modest farming family in a small village in Gujarat, Mr. Patel envisioned a future beyond traditional limitations. Driven by determination and a passion for innovation, he chose the path of manufacturing excellence.
His entrepreneurial journey began with supplying diesel engine spare parts to rural communities, where he quickly identified a critical need for reliable and high-quality centrifugal pumps for agricultural irrigation. Recognizing this opportunity, he laid the foundation of Fieldman Engineers Pvt. Ltd. (FEPL) in 1988.
On 15th August 1988, the first “Doctor” brand centrifugal pump was manufactured — marking the beginning of a legacy built on quality, trust, and performance. Over the decades, Doctor Pumps has grown from a small agriculture-focused manufacturing unit into a trusted brand serving agricultural, industrial, infrastructure, and institutional sectors.

1988
Fieldman Engineers Pvt. Ltd. was founded by Mr. P. V. Patel with a vision to manufacture reliable and high-quality pumping solutions for Indian farmers.
15 August 1988
The first Doctor brand centrifugal pump was manufactured and dispatched, marking the official launch of Doctor Pumps.
1989 – 1993
Doctor Pumps gained early acceptance among farmers by delivering durable and efficient centrifugal pumps for irrigation and rural water applications.
1994 – 1998
The company expanded its manufacturing range to include multiple pump models and horsepower variants, catering to diverse agricultural requirements.
1999 – 2003
Doctor Pumps emerged as pioneers in PTO-run gearbox-driven tractor pump sets, strengthening its leadership in agricultural pumping solutions.
2004 – 2008
Investments were made in manufacturing facilities, skilled workforce, and assembly operations to enhance production capacity and product consistency.
2009 – 2012
Doctor Pumps gradually expanded beyond agriculture and began supplying pumps for industrial, institutional, and utility-based applications.
2013 – 2015
The company strengthened its quality systems and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification along with multiple ISI licenses issued by BIS, reinforcing trust and compliance.
